Chris started his career in 2002, with television series Guinevere Jones. His first notable work that rose him to prominence was Australian television series Home and Away (2004–07.) He is best known for portraying the role of American Superhero Thor.
His critically acclaimed movies are The Cabin in the Woods (2012) and Rush (2013.) His breakthrough came in 2011 when he starred in American superhero film Thor. The movie was a commercial success, grossing $449.3 million, and became the 15th highest-grossing film of 2011.
