In February 2017, his that particular tweet about Ebola and Africa drove him into criticism and hatred that he had to delete the Tweet soon. His bad racist joke brought him into controversies, he quickly apologized.

Soon he again caught up with another controversy- His biggest lie was revealed. The very thing that brought him into prominence- a ring light to the photo session- was false. He had lied about it and the photo was manipulated in Photoshop to glow up his makeup.

In 2019, a YouTuber, Tati Westbrook, who is also American Internet personality and makeup artist, released a video called “Bye Sister” in which she critisized Charles and accused him of using fame and money to play with his subscribers. And Charles had to lose 1 million subscriber in just 24 hours. In turn, Charles uploaded titled “tati” in response to Westbrook’s video.

Charles apologized to his subscribers and her. Unfortunately, the video garnered negative feedback and the video became one of the most disliked videos in YouTube. Charles again uploaded another video, addressing the comment of Westbrook.

The second video of Charles helped him to regain his subscriber and support. The video turned criticism into Westbrook and as a reprecussion, Westbrook lost two hundred thousand subscribers. And as a result, she had to remove the video from her YouTube channel.
