John Krasinski, an American actor and filmmaker, was born on October 20, 1979, in Boston, Massachusetts. John rose to stardom in 2005 as Jim Halpert on the hit sitcom “The Office.” He is producer, direction, and screenwriter as well.

John Krasinski has appeared in movies like License to Wed, Away We Go, It’s Complicated, Something Borrowed, and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, to name a few. John was in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. His sitcom, “The Office” earned him four nominations for Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series.

Early Life

John Krasinski, 40 years old American Actor, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Ronald Krasinski and Mary Clare Krasinski. He is the youngest of three boys, his brothers- Kevin Krasinski and Paul Krasinski. John attended Newton South High School and played basketball.

Before joining college, John was an English teacher in Costa Rica. He graduated in 2001 from Brown University. John also attended the National Theater Institute.

John made his debut act in a sixth-grade school production, Annie. His ethnicity is Polish-American and follows Christianity. He is married to Emily Blunt and has 2 children.

Career

Right after graduating from Brown University, John went to New York for an acting career. He started his career professionally from 2000. He has appeared in numbers of commercials and even starred in Television Shows.

John played a minor role in “State and Main” in 2000. Since then, he played in many movies like Taxi, Alma Meter, and so on. It was in 2009, he, with his movie, Away We Go that he got huge recognition.

Back to 2004, when John cast in the sitcom The Office, with his commendable role as Jim Halpert, John garnered immense popularity. In 2006, John co-starred in the comedy film, A New Wave. Similarly, in 2007, he starred in the comedy movie, Smiley Face. 

And his acting career took him to a new height with movies like License to Wed, Kinsey, Jarhead, The Holiday, Dreamgirls, and so on. He also guest-starred in television series like  Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Without a Trace, Ed, American Dad! and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. John made his directorial debut in 2009, with Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.

Krasinski also starred in British-American Drama film,   Big Miracle in 2012. The same year, he worked with Olivia Thirlby in Nobody Walk. His performance earned many acclaims and the movie, Nobody Walk, won a Special Jury Prize.

Next, John co-produced and co-wrote for the drama Promised Land and narrated the documentary television series Head Games on the Discovery Channel. Further, he co-starred romantic comedy-drama Aloha, but the movie did not receive positive reviews. In 2016, he starred in biographical war film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,  directed by Michael Bay.

John directed comedy-drama film, The Hollar and starred in Off-Broadway, for which he earned praise by critics. John received the Theatre World Award for Outstanding Debut Performance for Off-Broadway. In 2018, he directed A Quiet Place, a horror movie.
